You did it. You finally booked the stay of your dreams at an all-inclusive resort in Key Largo. But don’t let yourself drift too far away in your daydreams – you still have to pack. Sure, the idea of it may sound like a chore, but it doesn’t have to be. We’ve put some tips together to help you pack everything you will need for your stay in paradise.

Clothing

Even though your vacation is all-inclusive, that doesn’t mean it includes clothes. So, you are still going to have to dust off that suitcase and dig in your closet. You will want an outfit for every day of your trip, of course. Along with socks, undergarments, and pajamas. However, spending time in the Florida Keys also warrants some special clothing you won’t want to forget, including:

  • Swimsuit or swim trunks (you may want to bring a couple)
  • Flip flops or the like to wear poolside
  • Dinner clothes (and shoes) for each night

Depending on when you travel, you may want to throw in a sweater, too. The temperatures here are usually mild, but during the colder months, they can drop into the upper 50s and 60s as the sun goes down. When combined with the sea breeze, a light sweater may feel good.

Toiletries

It is very common for all-inclusive resorts to provide many of the toiletries you need, such as soap, shampoo, and lotion – though it is always good to confirm what is provided before you go, rather than assume. After all, there is a good chance that once you arrive at your resort, you aren’t going to want to leave the property. Consider adding the following to your toiletry bag:

  •  Oral hygiene needs, such as toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, floss
  • Deodorant
  • Face wash or makeup remover
  • Nail clippers and tweezers
  • Hairbrush or comb
  • Special hair care products
  • Razor

Be sure to include any medications you take regularly. Always pack enough for an extra day or two in the event that there are travel delays.

The Just-In-Case Extras

Finally, there are those extras that you may want while at your all-inclusive resort. These are the things you find yourself saying, “ooh, I wish I would’ve brought ____ or _____” and then tell yourself you will know better for next time. They aren’t always necessary, but they make the experience that much more enjoyable. We thought we’d give you some ideas now so you can be prepared when you arrive.

  • Sunglasses. It’s sunny south Florida. Need we say more?
  • A pool bag to carry all your essentials when you head out of your room, such as your sunscreen, sunglasses, a good book, your headphones, etc.
  • A hat to block the sun – or to just look cute.
  • Aloe – just in case you end up with a sunburn.
  • Camera
  • An insulated reusable water bottle to stay hydrated in the sun
  • SPF lip balm

And, finally, reef-friendly sunscreen. Again, it is sunny and you will likely prefer to protect your skin, but we want you to protect sea life, too. We ask that if you intend to do any ocean adventures while visiting the Florida Keys that you use reef-safe sunscreen – sunscreen that specifically removes the chemicals oxybenzone and octinoxate that are detrimental to coral reefs.
